SIMPLE BOX COVER

As a simple box cover the WH HOLTON Electrical Cover is used instead of a blank cover with several important advantages. The WH HOLTON Electrical Cover allows installers to leave conductors that enter the junction boxes extending straight from the junction box opening. With the 4” depth of the WH HOLTON Electrical Cover there is no need to coil conductors and stuff them into the smaller parts of the junction box. This will save time during installation and more importantly during troubleshooting. Additionally the Top Hat Electrical Cover makes it easier and faster to access the contents of any junction box.

BOX EXTENSION SUBSTITUTE

The WH HOLTON Electrical Cover has more volume than one and a half box extensions. In applications where the volume of a junction box is exceeded the WH HOLTON Electrical Cover is the perfect solution for gaining the necessary volume. In either new installations or remodels the WH HOLTON Electrical Cover is faster and easier. In a new installation simply leave the conductors extending from the junction box and cover them with the WH HOLTON Electrical Cover. If you add conductors to an existing junction box for a remodel job and the volume exceeds the current junction box volume, simply add the WH HOLTON Electrical Cover. This will eliminate the need to add additional box extensions with a blank cover, which could reduce the length of wire extending from the box opening to shorter than the required 3”.

SAFETY

By reducing the need to coil conductors and stuff them into the smaller portions of a junction box the WH HOLTON Electrical Cover becomes a safer solution to covering junction boxes. Coiling and uncoiling conductors multiple times will cause conductor fatigue and will potentially compromise conductor insulation.

There are a number of code requirements that deal with bend radius of wire and conduit. The reasons are to reduce wire fatigue and promote current flow without causing the overheating of conductors. Junction boxes are one of the worst places for creating situations for conductor overheating. WH HOLTON Electrical Cover greatly reduces this situation by allowing the conductor to extend straight out of the junction box.
